2014 Overall Calendar

Safety at St. Raphael
We have been asked by many parents over the years to continue on in St Raphael Football and it's culture past 6th grade…currently only catholic kids attending RE or Catholic Schools can continue on. Many parents have been asking us for a more focused program beyond the 6th grade with more practice time, must play rules, weight classes that are more consistent with how HS (High School) teams are set up, slightly smaller team size, and playing in-house and travel teams…so we are moving in this direction…all while still having the same goal of safety, fun, and player development beyond football skills. With the 2014 season, we will have 3-4 teams in 7th grade based upon the HS that they will attend. These teams will play games with travel teams from our network of programs in the area and teams from the surrounding area. The teams will have outstanding coaching staffs and will run 3 practices per week with a competitive approach to practice and games. The must play rule will be different, meaning a player must play a minimum of only 7-10 plays per game. As always, we are here for whoever wants to make the commitment to play. The following year (2015) we will have a Junior High Travel Competitive Program for grades 5-6-7-8th. St Raphael will still maintain the in-house program for players/families in grades 5-6. There will be a maximum of 4 teams at every Junior High Travel Competitive League (JHTL) so space will be limited, but there will always be a spot somewhere for every child who wants to play in our program. If you are interested in the Jr. High Travel League, please register soon as space is limited.

Videotaping Policy:

The following is the policy regarding taking video of games. Video can be taken by parents and coaches of the games being played by their children. Positioning of the photographer will be left up to the commissioner of the division. The recommendation would be sidelines and end zones. But if you decide otherwise ... 30 yards behind the offense and end zone if behind the defense should be a limitation. Nobody is allowed to videotape any team other than their own. If teams decide to post on the Internet, all postings must be password protected.
